TITLE:       HYGIENE POLICY

This policy establishes that employees must keep themselves as hygienic as

Possible.

 

  1. BODY ODOR:

 

No employee shall have an odor generally offensive to others when reporting to work. An offensive body odor may result from a lack of good hygiene, from an excessive application of a fragrant aftershave or cologne or from other cause.

 

  1. If the body odor is due to or maybe due to a medical condition it is the

Responsibility of the employee to seek medical attention for their well-being, along with the well being of their co-workers.

 

  1. If the body odor is due to excessive use of aftershave, cologne, perfume, body spray, etc. The employee will be asked to reduce the amount used, or to terminate use in extreme circumstances in the best interest of the Department.

 

  1. Employees should be mindful of individual sensitivities to different

Fragrances and should use perfumes, colognes, hairsprays, and other fragrances sparingly.

 

 

  1. PERSONAL GROOMING:

 

  1. All employees must report to work clean and free to any type of body odor.
  2. All employees must shower or bathe everyday, with water and cleansing soap.
  3. All employees must cleanse private areas properly and daily.
  4. All females employees during their menstrual cycle must change pads or tampons as often as necessary to prevent infection or odor.
  5. All employees hair must be clean, neat, and restricted to styles that are appropriate to a public safety uniform environment.
  6. All employees fingernails must be clean and neatly trimmed.
  7. All employees must wash hands thoroughly before returning to workstation, especially after using the restroom.
