TITLE:     HOLIDAY TIME POLICY

EFFECTIVE DATE:  February 15, 2017

 

Provide uniform policy and standards relating Holiday time within the Emergency Dispatch Services Division.

 

  1. ELIGIBILITY:

 

Eligibility is as follows:

 

  1. HOW HOLIDAY ELIGIBILITY IS DETERMINED:

 

  1. All full time employees are eligible for eight (8) hours of Holiday pay for each holiday.

 

  1. HOLIDAY TIME:

 

  1. Holiday time is determined based upon the Louisiana Clerks of Court Holiday Schedule.

 

  1. The Holiday time is expected to be taken on the Holiday. If you are scheduled to work on the Holiday then you should take the holiday time within thirty (30) days or it will be forfeited.

 

  1. Holidays paid at Time and a Half:

 

  1. There will be five (5) holidays that will be recognized for time and a half pay:
    1. New Years Day
    2. Good Friday
    3. July Fourth
    4. Thanksgiving
    5. Christmas

 

In regards to: All Rules, Regulations, Policy & Procedures and Special Orders are at the discretion of the Sheriff based on departmental need and the severity of the infraction.
