Vehicle Recovered / With One Arrest
Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office has released the following:
On July 21, 2020, The Evangeline Parish Sheriffs Office received a complaint in reference to an unauthorized use of a vehicle.
According to the complainant on July 13, 2020 the owners allowed Mr. Wiley Eugene Henry to use there 2001 Dodge 1500 Pickup truck. On the morning of July 21, 2020, the victims decided to file their complaint due to Wiley not returning the vehicle.
Only hours after the vehicle was reported missing Detectives and Deputies received an anonymous tip that the vehicle was at the address of 220 Johnson Road in Ville Platte LA.
Deputies along with Detectives responded to the address of 220 Johnson Rd. where they located the missing vehicle and the suspect, Wiley Eugene Henry.
Wiley was arrested and booked at the Evangeline Parish Jail for L.A.R.S. 14:68.4 Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle where a warrant was issued and signed by Judge Ortego where a bond amount was set at $7,500. Wiley also has a hold for Probation and Parole due to prior state charges that he is currently on probation for at this time.
The vehicle was returned to the owners.
