TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARRESTS AND RECOVERY OF ITEMS

Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

 On the 29th of November A Deputy working the south end of the parish, conducted a stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. The deputy made contact with the driver and sole occupant Boyd Mills. Mr. Mills was extremely nervous and acting very suspicious. The deputy asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle. Mr. Mills said no go ahead and search it. Deputy Hopson then searched the vehicle and found several different illegal narcotics, and US currency.

 Deputies then contacted the criminal patrol/ narcotics units. Criminal patrol agents then took over the investigation. During the course of the investigation a search warrant was issued for the residence located at 3595 Pine Point road. Criminal patrol agents along with deputies executed the warrant. While conducting the search of the residence agents located methamphetamine 12.56 grams, marijuana 4 grams, an 33 pills.  

 Agents also found and seized 8 rifles, 1 crass bow, 2 pistols, 6 chain saws, 6 DeWalt power tools, 2 framing guns, 4 deer cameras, and assorted hand tools.

This led to the arrest of the following individuals.

LA:RS: 40:969. A.1 Possession with intent to distribute schedule 4

LA:RS: 40:968. A.1 Possession with intent to distribute schedule 3

LA:RS: 40:1060.13 Possession with intent to distribute legend drugs

LA:RS: 32:865. A No insurance

LA:RS: 40:966.C Possession of Marijuana

LA:RS: 40:967.C Possession of methamphetamine

LA:RS: 14:95.1 Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

He remains incarcerated at this time.
