TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST OF WANTED FELON!
Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:
On the 11th of November 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the L'anse Bleu area. Upon the deputy making contact with the driver an odor of marijuana was noticed coming from the vehicle. The driver admitted to having illegal narcotics and gave permission to search the vehicle.

On the 12th of November 2022 the Evangeline Parish Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding. Upon making contact with the driver and passenger, the deputy could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. An interview was conducted and permission to search the vehicle was granted. The deputy located a small amount of narcotics.

Traffic Stop Leads to Wanted Felon
On the 11th of November 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments Traffic Enforcement Division, conducted a stop on I49 for a violation. The deputy made contact with the driver, once the deputy checked the driver's identity it was learned he was wanted by multiple law enforcement agencies. Once the deputy went to speak with the suspect, he put the vehicle in park and fled at a high rate of speed. The deputy began pursuing the suspect at speeds over 130 mph. The suspect refused to stop and continued travelling north on I 49. When the suspect entered the Alexandria city limits spike strips were deployed. This caused the suspects vehicle to become immobile and the suspect was then taken into custody.

He is currently wanted by several other agencies.
Also, on the 11th of November 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments K-9 Unit stopped a car for a traffic violation. Agent conducted a interview and deployed K-9 Diego, who gave a positive alert to the presence of narcotics. Agents then conducted a search and located illegal narcotics.
