SEARCH WARRANTS AND TRAFFIC STOPS!
Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:
On the 20th of April 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments Narcotics Unit, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on ST. Landry Highway. Agents made contact with the driver and a brief roadside interview was conducted. K-9 Diego was deployed and gave a positive alert to the presence of narcotics. Agents then searched the vehicle and located illegal narcotics.

On the 25th of 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments Narcotics Unit along with the Patrol Division, executed a search warrant at a residence on Acadian Drive in the Chicot area. The search warrant stemmed from many complaints. Agents entered the residence and camper trailer on the property and detained six people. Agents then conducted a search of the property and residence locating narcotics and a firearm.

Also, on the 20th of April 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments Narcotics Unit, stopped a car in Pine Prairie for a traffic violation. Agents conducted an interview with the driver and occupants. This led to a search of the car which led to a citation being issued.

On the 20th of April 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments Narcotics Unit, conducted a traffic stop on a car on Veterans Memorial Highway. Agents approached the car and could smell an overwhelming odor of marijuana coming from it. The driver was advised of the reason for the stop, and asked if had narcotics. He said yes and told them where it was.

On the 22th of April 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments Narcotics Unit, conducted a traffic stop in Ville Platte. Agents made contact with the driver. Agents noticed an overwhelming smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Agents then conducted a search and located narcotics.
