Search Warrant Yields Large Amount Of Narcotics!!!
Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:
On the 10th of August, 2021- The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division conducted a traffic stop on a truck, in the 100 block of Armand St. in Ville Platte. The Agents made contact with the driver of the vehicle and noticed a strong odor of Marijuana coming from his person. The Agents on scene called for K-9 Diego. Once K9 Diego arrived on scene, he conducted a free air sniff of the outside of the truck and alerted on the presence of possible narcotics. The agents then searched the truck and located narcotics, firearms and U.S. currency. This then led Agents to obtain a Search Warrant for a residence located at 117 Armand St. in Ville Platte. Once Agents and Deputies entered into the residence, they located a large amount of various Narcotics and multiple Weapons. This led to the arrest of the following people: ( One, whom at the time of her arrest, was a Corrections Officer working for the Ville Platte Police Department. )

Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine (over 3.5 ounces)

Possession with Intent to Distribute Ecstasy (over 59 pills)
Possession of PCP
Possession of Oxycodone
Possession of a Firearm in Presence of CDS (controlled dangerous substance )
Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Malfeasance in Office
On the 11th of August, 2021- The EPSO Narcotics Division conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle granted Agents permission to search. The Agents then located Narcotics hidden under the hood of the vehicle. This led to the following arrest.
