Pursuit leads to recovery of a stolen vehicle along with multiple arrest
Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office has released the following:
On July 11, 2020 at approximately 1003 hours Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Detective Tommy Gallow was working traffic enforcement on Tiger ln, Detective Gallow observed a dark colored SUV traveling significantly above the speed limit. Detective Gallow then attempted to conduct a traffic stop by activating his emergency lights and siren but the SUV failed to comply.
Detective Gallow continued to pursue the vehicle and was able to obtain the license plate information after having that information go through the dispatch center Detective Gallow was notified that the vehicle had been reported stolen.
Finally, the vehicle came to a stop at Mercy Regional Hospital in Ville Platte, LA where the driver of the vehicle who was identified as Tyler Mcgoldrick was placed in custody, the passenger of the vehicle who was identified as Courtney Doucet was also placed in custody.
After further investigation it was learned that both Tyler Mcgoldrick and Courtney Doucet had warrants.
Tyler Mcgoldrick was transported to the Evangeline Parish Jail for booking. Tyler Mcgoldrick was charged with L.A.R.S. 32:61 Speeding, L.A.R.S 32:415 Driving under suspension, L.A.R.S. 32:95.1 No Seatbelt, L.A.R.S. 32:1301 unsafe vehicle,
L.A.R.S. 32:724 Possession of Stolen vehicle and L.A.R.S. 14:108.1 Aggravated Flight. A bond was set by Judge Ortego in the amount of $29,650. Tyler Mcgoldrick also has a hold for an active warrant from St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office for theft of a motor vehicle.
Courtney Doucet was arrested for a Failure to appear warrant from Evangeline Parish where she was transported to the Evangeline Parish Jail and booked on that warrant. No bond was set at that time.
