PASSENGER ATTEMPTS TO HIDE NARCOTICS!
Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:
On the 6th of December 2020 Evangeline Parish Criminal Patrol Unit Deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation, at the intersection of West Jefferson and North West Railroad. When deputies were approaching the vehicle, they saw the backseat passenger putting something in his pants. While deputies were talking to the driver the backseat passenger continued to hide something. Deputies then removed the passenger Brandon Scott Stelly. Deputies then searched him and found a bag of narcotics. Deputies also learned he was wanted on active warrants from St. Landry parish.

He was charged with
LA:RS: 40:967 Possession of cocaine
Warrants from ST. Landry parish.
He remains in custody.

He was also charged after deputies located
Narcotics on him
LA:RS: 40:967 Possession of cocaine
He remains in custody
The driver of the vehicle was released with a warning
