OUTSTANDING WARRANTS AND PLAIN VIEW NARCOTICS

Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

 On the 22 of June 2021 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department's Criminal Patrol Unit, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Easton area. Deputies made contact with the occupants, and advised of the reason for the stop. While speaking to the occupants it was determined one of them had outstanding warrants. While speaking to the occupants, deputies saw marijuana in plain view. This led to the following actions.

He was cited and released for

Possession of Marijuana

 The next traffic stop in the Easton area, was conducted for a traffic violation as well.

The driver of the vehicle was extremely nervous, and deputies obtained permission to search the vehicle which resulted in narcotics being found.

Later on, the 22nd of June 2021 Criminal Patrol Deputies stopped a vehicle in Pine Prairie, for a traffic violation. They made contact with the driver and advised the reason for the stop. A short interview was conducted and the driver admitted to being in possession of narcotics.

On the 23rd of June 2021 Criminal Patrol Deputies stopped a vehicle on Laran street in Ville Platte, for a traffic violation. The deputies saw narcotics in plain view and conducted a probable cause search. This led to several narcotic being located, and the following arrest.

Possession of narcotics in a drug free zone

Possession of drug paraphernalia 

 

 

Later in the day on June 23 2021 Deputies stopped a black truck for traffic violations, when they made contact with the driver, they saw narcotics. This led to a probable cause search and the discovery of narcotics.

On the 24th 2021 Criminal Patrol Agents responded to a suspicious vehicle call. Upon arrival deputies smelt marijuana coming from the car. Deputies advised the occupants of the reason they were there. Then they performed a search of the car, which led to narcotics being located.
