~NARCOTICS PRESS RELEASE~ DESTIN VIDRINE

On June 11,2024, Narcotic Agents were conducting Criminal Patrol on Heritage Road when agents observed a 2007 Pontiac 2 door vehicle, bearing Louisiana License Plate H389576 conduct a left turn on Heritage Road without using a turn signal 100 Feet Prior to Turning on Heritage and Majestic Road.   Agents activated the emergency lights to affect a traffic stop.   Once the vehicle came to a stop agents contact with the driver who was identified as Destin Vidrine 25 of Pine Prairie. D. Vidrine, who was also advised for the reasoning of the stop.    Agents observed an opener container within the vehicle and then instructed the driver and a juvenile who was in the front passenger seat, to exit the vehicle.   Upon the agents reviewing the driver's license and vehicle information, Vidrine was asked if he possessed any illegal narcotics and/or weapons in the vehicle that law enforcement needed to be aware of.  Vidrine stated he had a firearm in his vehicle located between his driver's seat and center consul area.  Agents took possession of the firearm for officer safety only.   Agents located a loaded Smith and Wesson SD9 VE Serial Number FDJ6169 in a Kydex Holster with a Magazine located on the driver seat.   Upon reviewing the criminal history of Vidrine, it was determined that he is a Convicted Felon.  Vidrine was advised of hit Miranda Rights and placed in restraints.   

Destin Sigh Vidrine was arrested for (1) count of 14:95.10 Possession of Weapon by a Convicted Felon. Vidrine was issued a traffic citation for his traffic related offenses (Citation 89058022). He was then transported to Evangeline Parish Jail for further booking and processing.
