NARCOTICS PRESS RELEASE ~AMELIA CHAPMAN AND GEREAL ARDOIN~
On March 24, 2025, Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office, while conducting Criminal Patrol within the city limits of Ville Platte, observed a vehicle bearing the Louisiana license plate 632 GUV conduct several turns without using a turn signal 100 feet before turning. Agents initiated the emergency lights to affect a traffic stop at the intersection of N Latour and Jackson. Upon making contact with the driver, 21-year-old black female identified as Amelia Grace Chapman and passenger, a 19- year -old black female identified as Gereal Ardoin. Upon contact, agents could smell the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Chapman and Ardion were advised of the reasoning of the stop and instructed to exit the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and on the floorboard of the driver's side was a mixed drink of Crème Soda mixed with Promethazine. Located on the passenger side was a baby bottle containing Promethazine along with a sandwich bag containing 2.74 grams of Marijuana. Also in a mason jar was 1.26 grams of Marijuana and an open package labeled Bay Smokes Exotic, THC Flower Rainbow Sherbet.
Amelia Grace Chapman was issued traffic citations and a criminal summons for 40:966 Possession of Marijuana and arrested and charged with (1) Count of 40:970C Possession of a Schedule V (Promethazine).
Gereal Delaley Ardoin was issued a Criminal Summons for 40:966 Possession of Marijuana and arrested and charged for (1) Count 40:970C Possession of a Schedule V (Promethazine)
