On August 29, 2024, agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office while conducting criminal patrol, agents observed a subject walking in the middle of the roadway obstructing traffic. The subject was identified as Trevor Mathews through prior encounters with Law Enforcement. Through field interviews and investigation, Mathews surrendered a hand-rolled cigar containing Marijuana weighing 1.24 grams which was located in the subject's underwear.
Trevor Mathews was issued a citation for 14:100.1 Obstruction of Public Passage, and 40:966 Possession of Marijuana under 14 grams and released.
