~NARCOTIC PRESS RELEASE~ WILSON & WESTON

On August 28, 2024, the Agent while conducting criminal patrol in the town of Mamou, observed a male walking North on Railroad Ave in the middle of the roadway wearing a face mask upon agents making contact with the male, who was identified as Drevon Weston and advised of the reasoning for the stop.  Agents smelled the odor of marijuana emitting from his person and Weston verbally admitted to having marijuana.  Approximately 7.1 grams of Marijuana was located along with a digital scale.   Agents also learned Weston had an Active Warrant through the District Attorney's Office.  During this time, Leola Wilson arrived and became irate with the agents.  The agent learned Leola Wilson maintained Warrants through the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office.  Leola Wilson was arrested and transported to the Evangeline Parish Jail for the Active Warrants.   Weston was issued a citation for La. R.S. code 14:100.1 Obstruction of Public Passage and La R.S. code 40:966 Possession of Schedule I Marijuana under 14 grams. Weston was then transported to Evangeline Parish Jail for the Active Warrant.
