~NARCOTIC PRESS RELEASE~ STEPHANIE JOHNSON AND MARLAYNA CASON

On August 5, 2024, Narcotic Agents stopped a vehicle leaving the residence of 1240 Ardoin Cemetery Road for a traffic violation. They came into contact with Stephanie Johnson, Marlayna Cason, and driver Brandi Richard. During the traffic stop marijuana was located and the driver was issued a traffic and criminal citation and released from the scene. S. Johnson and M. Cason were made aware of the narcotic search warrant for their residence. They advised them that Deputy George Shepard would give them a ride to their residence so they could assist with the vicious dogs at the residence and that they would ride with him. 

On August 5, 2024, Narcotic Agents and Patrol Deputies with Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office conducted a Narcotic Search Warrant at the residence of 1240 Ardoin Cemetery Road. Upon arrival at the residence, Stephanie Johnson and Marlayna Cason secured several aggressive in-nature dogs. Once the animals were secured, S. Johnson knocked on the bedroom window to her daughter's room Rachel Cason to wake her up. Once R. Cason woke up, she opened the door to the residence adjacent to the carport and was instructed to step out of the residence. S. Johnson and M. Cason then secured the animals within the residence and secured them in the laundry room.    A search of the residence was conducted with agents locating methamphetamines. 

M. Cason was arrested and charged with (1) Count of 40:967 Possession of Schedule II Methamphetamine.

S. Johnson was arrested on an Active Warrant and given a Criminal Summons for 40:966 Possession of Marijuana, less than 14 grams.
