~NARCOTIC PRESS RELEASE~ RUSSELL J MOREAU

On 06/30/24 Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office was notified of a  suspicious person at Mel's Quickstop that was reported to be acting as if he were under the influence of narcotics.    Patrol Deputies then responded to the area and made contact with a male subject who was identified as Russell J. Moreau (06/02/1972).   Moreau was observed to act in a manner that the deputies believed  he was under the influence of some form of narcotic substance.   The on scene deputy then began a consensual roadside interview that led to the subject giving consent to search his vehicle.   Upon searching the vehicle a ziploc type bag was located that contained 1.7 ounces (48.28 grams) of Synthetic Cannabis material.   Moreau was then advised his Miranda Rights and placed under arrest for Possession of CDS I - Synthetic Cannabis
