NARCOTIC PRESS RELEASE: ~ MARKENTAE WILLIAMS AND JOHNATHAN WILLIAMS
On March 18, 2025, Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Criminal Patrol Unit, while patrolling the La. Hwy 104 radared a vehicle traveling 70 mph in a 55mph speed zone. Upon making a traffic stop, agents made contact with the driver, who was a 39-year-old black male who was identified as Johnathan Williams and the passenger, 24-year-old black male of Ville Platte was identified as Markentae Decoriyan Williams. Through field interviews and impromptu investigation agents became aware a firearm was located under the passenger seat and narcotics were in the vehicle. Consent was given to search the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle was conducted, and located under the passenger seat was a Glock 43 9mm Serial Number: AFGL388. Located in the rear passenger compartment in a black backpack was a large tied plastic bag containing a tied piece of plastic containing 6.95 grams of Marijuana, a tied sandwich bag containing 30.39 grams of Synthetic Marijuana, a tied piece of plastic containing a black piece of plastic containing 12.25 grams Methamphetamine and a Digital Scale. Located between the driver seat and the center consul was 1.30 grams of Methamphetamines. During booking, 5 various colored pills with no markings or numbers were located in the back pocket of Markentae Willams and was identified as MDMA (Ecstasy) by Markentae's admission. Agents learned Markentae Williams was a wanted subject from St. Landry Parish Sheriff Office for the charges of Attempted First-Degree Murder and Armed Robbery.
Markentae Williams was arrested and charged with, (1) 14:108 Resisting a Officer by providing false name, (1) Count 14:95.E Possession of a Firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, (1) Count 40:966 Possession of Synthetic Marijuana with intent to distribute , (1) Count 40:966 Possession of MDMA (Ecstasy), (1) Count 40:967 Possession of Schedule II Methamphetamine with intent to distribute and (1) Count 14:402 Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility.
Johnathan Williams 38 years old of Opelousas is charged with )1) Count 14:108 Resisting a Officer by providing false name, (1) Count 14:95 Illegal Possession of a Firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies, (1) Count 14:95.E Possession of a Firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, (1) Count 40:966 Possession of Synthetic Marijuana with intent to distribute , (1) Count 40:966 Possession of MDMA (Ecstasy) and (1) Count 40:967 Possession of Schedule II Methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
