~NARCOTIC PRESS RELEASE~ LACEY WILSON
On April 2, 2025, Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office received information that a vehicle bearing Louisiana License Plate 347GXS located at the ICE Detention center they believed to have narcotics inside the vehicle. Narcotic Agents made contact with the Warden of the ICE Detention Center in who requested that K9 conduct a sweep of the premises. It should be advised that per the ICE Detention Policy, all subjects are subject to a search.
The vehicle was located within the parking lot of the ICE Detention Center. Agents deployed K9 Diego to conduct a free air sniff around the outer perimeter of the vehicle, in which a positive alert was observed for the odor of narcotics. Contact was made with the owner of the vehicle, identified as Lacey Wilson. Lacey Wilson was advised of why Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office were there and what was going on at the time.
Due to the positive alert on the vehicle, a search was conducted. Located in the vehicle was a package containing 5.8 grams of Marijuana, located in another package was 0.5 grams of Marijuana in a hand-rolled smoked cigar.
Lacey Wilson was issued a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana under 14 grams. It should be noted that due to the subject being employed by the ICE Detention Center, further action is still under investigation.
