~NARCOTIC PRESS RELEASE~ KELLY JONES

On July 29, 2024, Narcotic Agents while conducting criminal patrol, observed a male on a bicycle in the middle of the roadway on Mulberry Street obstructing public passage by driving in and out both lanes of travel.  After a short pursuit, the male subject, identified as Kelly Cortez Jones, was detained.  Upon searching for his person, located in his pants pocket, was a white piece of paper containing a piece of plastic that contained Methamphetamine weighing 1.75 grams.  Also located in his left sock was a tied piece of plastic containing Synthetic Marijuana weighing 0.35 Grams, as well as a metal Smoking pipe.

Kelly Cortez Jones 42 of, Ville Platte was arrested and charged with (1) Count of 40:967C Possession of Schedule II CDS Methamphetamine, (1) Count of 40:966C Possession of Scheule I CDS Synthetic Marijuana (1) Count of 14:100.1 Obstruction of Public Passage (1) Count of 14.108.1 Flight From an Officer.
