On June 20, 2024, Narcotic Agents, while conducting criminal patrol, agents observed a vehicle traveling north on Hwy that maintained license plate 676FJO that appeared to be expired. Upon confirmation the expired license plate and the vehicle being uninsured, agents activated the emergency lights to affect a traffic stop with the vehicle coming to a stop on Hwy 167 North and Acadian Drive.  Agents made contact with the driver who was identified as Joseph Lafleur.  Lafleur was informed of the reason of the stop. When asked for his insurance paperwork he stated that he did not have proof and that he also did not have his cell phone to provide proof either.  Lafleur was then instructed to exit the vehicle and as he exited the vehicle a small amount of Marijuana could be seen on the driver seat.  Agents asked Lafleur if he had any illegal narcotics in the vehicle and he stated he may have a Marijuana pipe in the vehicle.  Although probable caused was established, Lafleur cooperated with agents and consented to a search of his vehicle.

The search of the vehicle resulted in agents locating piece of plastic containing 1.34 grams of Marijuana, located on the side of the driver seat and in the center console, a tan colored Marijuana pipe was located and a Marijuana grinder.  Lafleur was issued a citation #89059661 for Expired License plate, No Proof of Insurance.

A criminal summons was issued for Possession of Schedule I under 14 grams and released from the scene.

Due to no insurance on the vehicle, R n T Towing arrived and took possession of the vehicle.
