~NARCOTIC PRESS RELEASE~ DAVID MCMILLAN

On August 23, 2024, Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sherrif's Office4 while conducting Criminal Patrol observed a vehicle conduct a right turn without using a signal before turning.   Agents conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, who was identified as David Mcmillan.  McMillan was advised on the reason for the stop. Contact was also made with the passenger who was identified as Jeremie Fontenot.  During contact, agents could smell the odor of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle. During the field interview, Fontenot admitted to having some within his cigarette pack.  In a search of Fontenot's person and contents of the cigarette pack, agents located a hand-rolled marijuana cigarette.
McMillan was issued citations for traffic infractions
Fontenot was issued a Criminal Summons for 40:966 Possession of Marijuana less than 14 grams.
