~NARCOTIC PRESS RELEASE~ BRIAN HENRY
On April 3, 2025, Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office, while conducting criminal patrol, were traveling east on Berdine Street when agents observed a vehicle, a blue Ford F150 Louisiana license plate F172260, turn left onto Elbea Street, driving out of its lane of travel. Due to the driver having numerous interactions with Criminal Patrol, agents identified the driver as Brian Henry, who signaled his right turn onto Wyble Road right before turning, and less than 100 feet prior to turning. At that time, agents activated the emergency lights to effect a traffic stop on the vehicle, and the vehicle continued traveling east on Wyble Road. Agents then activated sirens, and the vehicle continued on Wyble Road. After several attempts to block the vehicle, the vehicle turned into the driveway of 1518 Peggy St. At this time, the driver, Brian Henr,y could be seen moving around in the vehicle as if he was attempting to conceal or destroy possible evidence. Agents made contact with Henry and advised him of the attempts to conduct a traffic stop and ordered Henry out of the vehicle. Agents conducted a pat search of Henry a blue pill identified as Viagra was located in the pockets of his shorts. Because of the numerous traffic stops in the past with Henry and narcotics being present, the agent deployed K9 Diego to conduct a free air sniff around the vehicle. Upon Diego's alerting to the odor of narcotics on the driver's side of the vehicle, a search of the vehicle was conducted. Before the vehicle search, Agent learned Henry did not possess a valid driver's license, nor did he secure insurance or valid registration of the vehicle. During the vehicle search, agents located a plastic bag containing 7.78 grams of Marijuana, a small glass jar containing 8.01 grams of Marijuana and .52 grams of Methamphetamines along with a glass meth pipe. Within a binder located on the back seat, 2 Buprenorphine & Naloxone Sublingual Film 8Mg/2mg were located.
Brian Henry was arrested and charged with (1) Count of 40:966A Marijuana-Distribution/Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS (1) Count of 40:967 C Possession of Schedule II Methamphetamines, (1) Count of 40:968C Possession of Schedule III CDS Suboxone and (1) Count of 14:108.1 Flight from an Officer (Misdemeanor)
