~NARCOTIC PRESS RELEASE~ BRANDY RICHARD

On August 19, 2024, Narcotic Agents while conducting criminal patrol, observed a subject identified as Brandy Richard 30 of Ville Platte who had an active warrant for her arrest parked and sitting in the driver's seat of a 1997 White Ford Explorer bearing La temp tag #21486798 with a tender age juvenile sitting on her lap at Walmart.  Contact was made with Richard in who was advised that she had an active warrant.  Richard was instructed to call somebody in reference to getting custody of her child. Once the child was given custody to Kimberly Corona as requested by the mother, verbal permission was given to search the vehicle by Richard.   During the search by agents, they located in the empty void above the radio a smoked hand-rolled cigar containing Marijuana weighing .88 grams. Located in the cup holder was a folded piece of paper containing Marijuana weighing 1.18 grams.

Brandy Richard was transported to Evangeline Parish jail for Active Warrants, and she was also issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana under 14 grams and CDS in the presence of a juvenile.
