On January 20, 2023, Investigators with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office opened an investigation in reference to narcotics and contraband being taken into the Evangeline Parish Jail.  During the investigation, it was learned that inmate Ricky Fontenot of Pine Prairie W/M DOB 12/13/1991, inmate Chandler Matte of Ville Platte W/M DOB 12/09/1992, and inmate Chase Gordy of Clearwater W/M DOB 2/24/1987 were responsible.  After obtaining information this was occurring, the Detectives interviewed the above suspects.
