Halloween Community Awareness!

Community Awareness

The Evangeline Parish Sheriffs Department manages approximately 188 Sex Offenders, and we strive to ensure a safer community for our citizens.  Halloween is a time when you need to know what homes your children should not approach when trick-or-treating.  Before Halloween, I, Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, am asking our citizens to do the following to ensure a safe trick-or-treat experience for our children:

  1. Go to the OFFENDERWATCH APP from the Apple APP Store or Google Play Store or the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Office website (evangelineparishsheriff.org). The OffenderWatch App is a free app partnered with law enforcement to inform families on registered sex offenders.  Parents can find sex offenders near them, track their children while they are trick-or-treating and receive updates from law enforcement. On this app will see if any offenders are living within a 1-mile radius of the address you specify.
  2. Sign up to receive an email alert should an offender move within a specified radius of any address you register.

If you have any further questions please visit our website (evangelineparishsheriff.org) or call the Evangeline    Parish Sheriff Department at 363-2161 and ask for Sgt. Carleen Dicks with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Office Probation and Parole.

Sheriff Charles R. Guillory would like to wish everyone a Safe and Enjoyable Halloween.
