Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Deputies Arrest One After Woman found Critically Injured
Sheriff Eddie Soileau, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office has released the following:
Wednesday night, December 18, 2019 Deputies were dispatched to the 1200 block of Traffic Lane. The caller advised that a female subject was requesting help and appeared to have suffered from multiple severe injuries.
The victim was Air-med to Rapids Medical Center in critical condition with severe life-threatening injuries.
During the initial investigation, it was learned that the injuries had been caused by a male subject identified as Nicholas James Rollins of Ville Platte. Rollins was immediately located and detained. He was transported to the Evangeline Parish Jail and booked on an outstanding warrant, pending further charges from the current alleged allegations.
After further investigation and questioning Rollins was charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Aggravated 2nd Degree Battery, Aggravated Kidnapping (2 counts), and Child Desertion. Affidavit and Warrant of Arrest was signed by 13th Judicial Judge Chuck West. Rollins is being held with NO BOND.
No further information is being released at this time; incident is still under investigation.
Victim is in stable condition at the Rapides Medical Center.
