Disturbance Leads to Drug Arrest
Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:
On the 6th of November 2020 The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Department responded to a call of a disturbance at 1149 Acadian Drive involving weapons. Upon arrival deputy's spoke to Naomi Edwards. She stated that Joline Brasseux had started punching her and then pulled a gun on her. While deputies were trying to get a clear understanding of what occurred Mrs. Brasseux went into the residence and barricaded herself in the residence. She kept screaming that she has an autistic child inside and was not coming out. Deputies made several attempts to talk her out of the residence, which she refused. Deputies then made forced entry into the residence and detained Mrs. Brasseux. Once inside Deputies went into the bedroom to look for the child she kept claiming to have inside the room. No child was found. Once Deputies entered the bedroom, they saw narcotics in plain view. Therefore Mrs. Brasseux was charged with the following.

LA:RS: 40:966.C Possession of Crack Cocaine
She remains incarcerated
