CRIMINAL PATROL CLEANING UP THE STREETS!

Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following: 

  On the 2nd of December 2020 The Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department Criminal Patrol unit saw a black dodge pickup commit a traffic violation. K-9 deputy Willis stopped the truck on north Latour street. He made contact with the driver and sole occupant Charles Hebert. Mr. Hebert was advised of the reason for the stop. Deputy Willis then requested proof of insurance. Mr. Hebert went back to his truck and picked up a small wooden bat and starting striking a white pit bull puppy that was in the truck with the bat. Deputy Willis then removed Mr. Hebert from the truck and placed him in handcuffs. Deputies Crawford and Godeaux arrived on scene. Deputy Crawford performed a pat down on Mr. Hebert he noticed a container in his pocket. When asked what was in the pocket Mr. Hebert stated I do not know. Permission to remove the object was given. Once Deputy Crawford removed it, they found a pill bottle containing Methamphetamine. Mr. Hebert was then charged as follows.
