Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

On the 23rd of December 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department's Narcotics Unit, stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Agents made contact with the driver and sole occupant. Agents then developed probable cause to believe narcotics may be involved. K-9 Diego was on scene and deployed giving a positive alert to the presence of illegal narcotics. Agents then conducted a search of the vehicle and located a small amount of narcotics. Agents then searched the driver and located a hidden belt around his waist which contained more narcotics. The following actions occurred.

NO PHOTO ALLOWED

He was charged with

Possession with intent to distribute Heroin over 6 grams

Possession with intent to distribute Fentanyl over 4 grams

Possession with intent to distribute Methamphetamine over 24 grams

A hold was placed on him for a Parole violation

He was cited for the traffic violation

ALL SUSPECTS ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY
