~ARREST REPORT~ DEANDRE WILSON
On July 3, 2024, deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office were dispatched to St. Peter St. near Mamou for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, Deputies discovered that someone stole a motorized wheelchair, valued at around $3,000, from an elderly gentleman at his residence. Deputies took the initial report but could not locate the wheelchair.
During the investigation, Detectives gathered witness statements and eventually located the wheelchair, which was returned to the owner. On September 26, 2024, the investigation led to the arrest of a black male subject, identified as 25-year-old Deandre M. Wilson of Mamou, for felony possession of stolen property. Mr. Wilson's bond was set at $25,000.
