Arrest Leads to the Capture of a Wanted Fugitive
Sheriff Eddie Soileau, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office has released the following:
The only suspect allegedly involved in the burglary at Flat Town Farm Supply in Ville Platte has been arrested on the charge of Possession of Stolen Things.
Early Thursday morning, June 11, 2020 Detectives arrested Michael N. Arvie (42) without incident at his residence of 6582 Pine Point Road in Ville Platte. Arvie was safely transported to the Evangeline Parish Jail where he was booked on the charge of Possession of Stolen Things. An Affidavit and Warrant of Arrest had been previously signed by 13th Judicial District Judge Chuck West with a bond of $25,000.00.
During Arvie's booking process it was learned that he was wanted by East Baton Rouge Parish. Arvie escaped from the custody of East Baton Rouge Correctional Facility staff on or about April 2, 2020. Arvie was assigned to a Work Release Program when he managed to escape. He was immediately classified as a Fugitive At Large with an active outstanding Felony Warrant for Simple Escape. Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office has placed a hold on Arvie for the East Baton Rouge Correctional Center.
Arvie also has an active outstanding Warrant for the Louisiana Child Support Enforcement a division of the Department of Children and Family Services.
