~ARREST BRIEFING~ LANDRY CHARLES DESHOTEL
On Monday, November 4, 2024 the Sheriff's Office received a complaint of a reckless driver on Miller's Lake Road traveling east towards Ville Platte. A bolo was sent out to all units with a description of the vehicle.
At approximately 1:51pm an EPSO Sheriff Deputy made contact with the vehicle parked in the roadway near the intersection of West Main St. and Court St. in Ville Platte. Subject exited the vehicle later identified as Landry Charles Deshotel.
Upon contact with Deshotel the Deputy detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage. The Deputy then conducted a field sobriety test and Deshotel failed the test. Deshotel was advised of his rights and transported to the EPSO to give a breath sample on the Intoxilyzer. The results showed that Deshotel blew over the legal limit showing he was driving while intoxicated.
Deshotel was placed under arrest and charged with 14:98 Operating a vehicle while intoxicated and 14:100.1 Obstructing public package.
