~ARREST BRIEFING~ JASON RICHARD
On September 1, 2023, the Evangeline Parish Criminal Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on the Vidrine Rd. in reference to a traffic violation. During the stop, Deputies deployed the K-9 due to the driver being a known narcotics user and being extremely nervous.
While the K-9 was deployed, he gave an alert that there was illegal narcotics within the vehicle. After the K-9 alerted, the Deputies on scene conducted a search of the vehicle. During the search, Deputies located approximately 13.01 grams of methamphetamine, 1.1 grams of fentanyl, .5 grams of heroin, and two clonazepam pills. The driver of the vehicle (Jason Richard W/M DOB 03/01/1972 of Mamou) was booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail for Possession of Heroin, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession and Distribution of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Clonazepam. His bond was set at $40,000.00.
The passenger of the vehicle (Dalana Granger W/F DOB 11/26/1990 of Mamou) was also booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail for Possession and Distribution of Methamphetamine and Possession of Clonazepam. Her bond was set at $28,500.00.
