ARREST BRIEFING ~ HALEY RAE MANUEL

On March 1, 2024, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office received a complaint from the Reddell Vidrine Water system. Detectives then attended a meeting with the Water System's board and discovered that a previous employee had written herself unauthorized checks as well as made unauthorized purchases using the water system checking and savings accounts. An audit then confirmed that Haley Rae Manuel of Eunice, La., had stolen or misappropriated $31,133.80. Manuel was then charged with Theft of Funds Over $31,000 and counts of Monetary Instrument Abuse. She was arrested on March 26, 2025, and is being held on a $30,000 bond.
