ARREST BRIEFING ** DUSTIN FONTENOT **
On April 4, 2022, Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 3100 Blk. of Tate Cove Rd. located in the unincorporated area of Ville Platte La. in reference to a simple burglary and a motor vehicle theft. While on scene, the victim report that someone obtained entry in to her secured outdoor storage shed and had stolen her LSU themed gas powered scooter/moped. During the investigation, Detectives were able to recover the scooter inside the city limits of Ville Plate where it had been altered from its original appearance. After several weeks during the investigation, Detectives were able to identify the suspect (Dustin Fontenot) of Ville Plate. He was later apprehended and arrested for one count of simple burglary, motor vehicle theft, criminal damage to property, and criminal trespassing. He is currently incarcerated in the Evangeline Parish Jail with a $57,500.00 bond.
