~ ARREST BRIEFING ~ DONOVEN WESTON
On November 19, 2023, Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the 1500 Blk. of Max St. Mamou La. in reference to a theft of a firearm. During the investigation, it was discovered that while the victim was preparing to clean his AR-15, he had left the firearm on a table outside of his residence unattended. When he returned to begin cleaning his firearm, he observed the suspect (Donoven Weston B/M DOB 09/07/2005 of Mamou) running away from his residence with the firearm in his hand.
On December 6, 2023, Detectives with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office obtained an arrest warrant for Donoven for theft of a firearm. He was later located and was transported to the Evangeline Parish Jail where he is currently awaiting a court hearing for other similar charges. His bond was set at $15,000.00.
