~ARREST BRIEFING~ CASEY TATE AND GILBERT LAFLEUR
On August 23, 2023, deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office received a complaint of an attempted business burglary that occurred at the carwash located at 3030 Old Hwy 13 road. During the investigation it was learned that the suspects attempted to pry off the change machine at the business causing significant damage to the machine and building.
Detectives were able to identify the suspects with the business' video security system. During that time, detectives identified the suspects as being Casey Tate W/M DOB 08/19/1988 of Ville Platte and Gilbert Lafleur W/M DOB 08/07/1990 of Ville Platte. Warrants were later issued for both suspects. They were apprehended on September 12, 2023, arrested, and charged with Attempted Burglary and Simple Criminal Damage to Property. Both suspects are being help in the Evangeline Parish Jail with a $51,500.00 bond.
