~NARCOTIC PRESS RELEASE~ ALBERT, SANTINY, AND BERTRAND

On June 17,2024, Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office receive a phone call from a home owner who had recently rented out their residence on 203 N Coriel Street, stating unknown individuals were hanging out under the carport of the residence and were not supposed to be there.   Upon their arrival, agents made contact was made with two subjects identified as Brittani Evans and a male subject who identified himself as Mike Charles .  Both subjects were questioned in reference to their reasoning of being on the property.  Both Mike Charles Brittani Evans submitted to a pat search or officer safety.   During the pat search Michael Charles, a pill bottle was heard and felt, due to the bulge within the pocket, Charles was asked if the contents of his pockets could be taken out in which he stated yes. Located in his right front pant pocket was a plastic baggie containing another piece of plastic which contained Synthetic Marijuana as well as the bag itself containing Synthetic Marijuana weighing total of 8.7 grams. Also was a pill bottle labeled to Pamela Fontenot 302 Ernest St. in which contained 29 in total round blue pills with imprint U12 identified 10mg Cyclobenzaprine Hydrochloride. When asked where he got the pills from he pointed across the street and said in the trash.

 

 Michael Charles was physically detained and placed in handcuffs and advised of his Mirranda Rights. Dispatch was advised of the subject's name and date of birth in which provided as 1/13/84. M. Charles was secured in a marked patrol unit.

It was made known to agents of approximately seven subjects were located in and or around the residence and it was unknown if any subject possessed weapons.  At this time 3 Detectives with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's arrived on the scene to assist the agents.   Agents knocked on the door and made contact with the residence inside and Justine Bertrand advised deputies they could enter the residence. Subject identified as James Wilson, Justine Bertrand, and Donnie Bordelon. Dispatch was advised of all the subjects name and date of birth.  A female was located in a back room, who was identified as Giordan Santiny 30 of Pine Prairie.   Through field interviews agents learned Giordan Santiny and Justine Bertrand  35 of Ville Platte maintained Active Felony Warrants through the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office.   G. Santiny and J. Bertrand were placed under arrest advised of their Mirranda Rights. G. Santiny, and Justine Bertrand were transported to Evangeline Parish Jail for booking and processing. When information such as criminal history and driver's license/ identification information was attempted to be located by dispatch it was found that no record could be found with anyone matching information given.

Once at the Evangeline Parish Jail, agents learned Michael Charles had provided a false name and date of birth to the Agents and Correctional Officers during booking.    Upon identifying Michael Charles through finger prints, Michael Charles' real name was Michael Alber Sr who also maintained an Active Warrant for Eunice City Marshal's Office

Michael Albert Sr. 39 homeless was charged with Resisting a Officer by providing false name, Possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I Synthetic Marijuana and Possession of Legend Drug without Prescription.
